Medscape is a commercial medical web site and provides an excellent Medline interface to registered users (registration is free and easy) This site offers considerable full text content through its journal room clinical content page. Other features include patient education resources and free continuing education for a variety of healthcare professionals.

How to use the Medscape search engine:

Medscape searches electronic citations provided by the publishers of journals. You can use a simple keyword search.

1. Enter one or more search terms with quotation marks
2. Author names should be entered in the form of "Smith AB"
3. Journal titles may be entered in full
4. Use AND, OR as logic operators
   An example might be "vitamins" AND "common cold"
